On Friday May 29th the Lake of the Woods Historical Society held a special preview of the new exhibit that was in the making for the past few years. It is arranged in sequential order from settlers arriving to the area, the 1910 fire, resettlement and farming and working in the area. Some exhibits are still there but in a different area of the museum. One of the newer exhibits is a scene from a school house class room when the 1910 fire happened. The teachers worked very hard to make sure the children were safe. The newer exhibits consisted of a team of sled dogs with sled for transportation, a team of horses, and a wooden transportation cart with luggage. photo by Mary Boomgaarden
