An update to our story on page 1 of this week's Northern Light Region: Deceased woman found in residential fire

 

On December 19, 2025, at approximately 3:38 AM, the Lake of the Woods County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting a residential house fire at 320 2nd Avenue SE, Baudette, Minnesota.

 

Emergency responders from the Lake of the Woods County Sheriff’s Office, Baudette Fire/Rescue Department, and Lake of the Woods Ambulance Service were immediately dispatched to the scene. 

 

Nelda Fay Anderson, age 91, of Baudette, was later found deceased in the home.

 

The incident is being treated as accidental and remains under investigation by the Lake of the Woods County Sheriff’s Office, the Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office, and pending a full autopsy.
