Notice of School Board Vacancy

Lake of the Woods School District 390 has a school board vacancy for District #6 (Williams area). The Board of Education has the authority to appoint a qualified individual to the vacant positions. The term will commence on Monday, October 28th, 2024. A special election will be held on one of the designated elections dates for 2025.

Qualifications:

· At least 21 years of age

· U.S. citizen and eligible to vote

· Resident of ISD 390 School Board District #6 for at least 30 days

· No record of criminal sexual misconduct for which registration is required

Process and timeline to fill Vacancy:

· Friday, August 30, 2024 – Public Posting of School Board Vacancy.

· Friday, September 13th, 2024 – Application deadline.

· Tuesday, September 17th, 2024 – Special Board Meeting at 4:00 P.M. in the ITV room to review applications followed by interviews, if needed.

· Monday, September 23rd, 2024 – Approval of appointment to District #6 at regular public board meeting.

· 30-day wait period for public opportunity to petition against the appointment.

· Monday, October 28, 2024 – Oath of Office and beginning of term
