Ronald LeRoy Epley, 82
Ronald LeRoy Epley, 82, of International Falls, Minnesota, died on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at the Good Samaritan Society in International Falls.
He was born August 14, 1941, to LeRoy and Velma (McCourtney) Epley. They, along with his four sisters, lived in Table Rock, Nebraska, until 1949, when they moved to Baudette, Minnesota. In 1954, they moved to International Falls, Minnesota. He graduated in 1958 and joined the Army, where he was a driver while stationed in Germany. After he was discharged, he went to work at Boise Cascade.
He married Linda Kay Briggs on June 1, 1963. They purchased the farm in 1965, where they raised their five daughters. He worked at Boise for 32 years, where he was known by his nickname “Farmer”. He farmed for over 47 years, raising cattle, baling hay, and selling beef and feed with the help of his wife and daughters. He loved his family, farming, and a good joke.
He was preceded in death by his parents, LeRoy and Velma; great-grandson Asher; sons-in-law, Bill Starling and Paul Zumbusch; and brother-in-law, Chub Hancock.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; daughters Jane (Dave) Person, Sue (Mark) Wednchuck, Anne (Allen) Henningsen, Sara Zumbusch, and Beth (Matt) Rissanen; grandchildren: Ted (Jazz) Schoper, Nick Schoper, Jordan Wednchuk, Cassie (Mitch) Swanson, Alex (Kristen) Henningsen, Allie (Matt) Jorgensen, Riley (Dan) Holm, Brandon Fischer, Aiden Rissanen, Elli Rissanen, and Lainey Rissanen; great-grandchildren: Addison, Amelia, Everly, Elsie, Hadley, Briar, Paul, Casper and Leon; sisters: Marj Hancock, Maxine (Bill) Scholler, Mary Lou (Mel) Milender, and Norma (Del) Christenson.
A visitation will be held on Friday, August 9, 2024, at Green-Larsen Mortuary from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at The Junction, 5536 MN-Hwy. 11 International Falls, MN 56649.
Interment will take place at Forest Hill Cemetery.
