Tess Jeannette (Hackett) Hofsommer, 93

Tess Jeannette (Hackett) Hofsommer, age 93, passed under hospice care at Edgewood Vista in Fargo on April 14, 2024.

Tess was born on August 25, 1930, to Hanlon G. and Theresa (Dillon) Hackett in Minneapolis, MN. She grew up in Baudette, MN, where she graduated high school. In 1952, she graduated from Deaconess Nursing in Grand Forks, ND, with her LPN degree. She worked at hospitals in Minneapolis and St. Paul, MN.

Tess married Stanley Hofsommer in 1954. They had four children together: Connie Jean, Timothy Conrad, Lee Allen, and Lisa Ann. The marriage ended in 1966.

She worked for many years in Cardiology at Abbott Northwestern Hospital. In 1995, she retired to her lake place on Lake Traverse, SD. She recently reconnected with her daughter, Susan Rustvold.

She is survived by her children, Susan (Perkins) Rustvold, Lee (Anita) Hofsommer, Lisa (Steve) Sussman, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her children, Connie and Timothy; her mother, Tracy; father, Hanlon; and sister, Joann St. Peter.

A memorial service is to be held at a later date in Baudette, MN. Per Tess’s wishes, no funeral service will be held.
