The Lake of The Woods County Board of Commissioners met in regular session on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at Lake of the Woods County Government Center in the Commissioners’ Room.

CALL TO ORDER Chair Cody Hasbargen called the meeting to order at 9:00a.m. and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited with the following members present: Commissioners: Cody Hasbargen, Jon Waibel, Buck Nordlof, and Joe Grund. Also Present was Auditor-Treasurer Lorene Hanson. Absent: Commissioner Ed Arnesen.

APPROVAL OF AGENDA Motion was made by Commissioner Joe Grund, seconded by Commissioner Jon Waibel and carried unanimously approve the amended agenda.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES Motion was made by Commissioner Jon Waibel, seconded by Commissioner Buck Nordlof and carried unanimously to approve the official minutes of February 13, 2024.

SOCIAL SERVICES Claims Motion was made by Commissioner Joe Grund, seconded by Commissioner Buck Nordlof and carried unanimously to approve the following claims: Commissioners Warrants $5,587.99; Commissioners Warrants $1,008.51; Commissioners Warrants $6,167.20.

Auditor/Treasurer Claims Motion

Motion was made by Commissioner Buck Nordlof, seconded by Commissioner Jon Waibel and carried unanimously to approve the claims against the County as follows: Revenue $32,782.65; Road & Bridge $34,513.21; County Development $2,200.00; Solid Waste $13,288.74; EDA $21,356.01.

Correspondence The board reviewed correspondence from the fair board, and AMC.

Public Works Purchase of Brush Hog Mower Motion was made by Commissioner Jon Waibel, seconded by Commissioner Joe Grund and carried unanimously to approve the purchase of a brush hog mower in the amount of $36,316.30 out of Highway funds.

Approval of Electrical Quote at the Northwest Angle Motion was made by Commissioner Jon Waibel, seconded by Commissioner Buck Nordlof and carried unanimously to approve the quotes from Angle Inlet Electric for transfer station lighting in the amount of $4,166.00 and replacement of lighting and GFCI in garage in the amount of $6,058.80 and for County Engineer Anthony Pirkl to sign both agreements.

Approve Houston Engineering for Master Planning for the Northerly Park

Motion was made by Commissioner Buck Nordlof, seconded by Commissioner Joe Grund and carried unanimously to approve the quote from Houston Engineering in the amount of $55,682.00 for the master planning of the Northerly Park project at the Northwest Angle to be paid for out of the soil and water grant.

Updates Assistant Engineer Boyd Johnson gave an update on various highway projects.

Adjourn Motion was made by Commissioner Buck Nordlof, seconded by Commissioner Joe Grund and carried unanimously to adjourn the meeting at 9:30 a.m.
