Pictured is a photo of a pickup truck that belonged to Frank McGuire. Frank was a commercial fisherman on Long Point, married to Elenora Neumiller. In the 1930's he would haul 100 pound boxes of walleye on ice to sell in the Twin Cities. In 1937 he had the misfortune to have his truck break down in Motley on the way south. The fish were perishable and wouldn't last until his truck was repaired. Frank asked about in Motley to see if anyone would be willing to buy the fish. He happened across Ed Morey who offered to trade corn and some other supplies for the fish. That chance meeting was the beginning of the Morey Fish Company.
