Harold John Forpahl, 76

Harold John Forpahl, 76, of Warroad, and formerly Brooklyn Center, MN, was born September 17, 1946, to Frank and Cecelia (Kirby) Forpahl in Minneapolis, MN. He passed of metastatic bladder cancer in Fargo, ND, on September 9, 2023. Harold was married to Catherine Pellett of Roosevelt, MN. He served in the Navy and was a Vietnam veteran. After retiring from SuperValu in 2010, Harold and Catherine moved to Warroad.

He was a parishioner at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Warroad and a member of the Knights of Columbus, the VFW, and the Color and Honor Guard. Harold was a volunteer in the Ruffed Grouse Society, mowed grass at St. Mary’s Cemetery, and helped the community in many other ways. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, snowmobiling, and spending time with his family.

Harold is survived by his wife of 54 years, Catherine; sons Robert (Alisa), Randy (Charlene), and Derrin; daughters Debra Amelse (Jeffrey) and Denise Johnson (Derek); grandchildren Anthony, Alyxandra, Jake, Jason and Blake Forpahl; Garrett, Marie and Carter Amelse; Nathan, Marissa and Zachary Johnson and Molly Holasek; 4 great-grandchildren; brothers Jim and Joe Forpahl and many nieces and nephews.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Cecelia, and siblings Edward and Mary.
