Kurt Hans Klicker, 65

Kurt Hans Klicker, 65 of Aitkin, passed away on May 18, 2023, at his residence. He was born November 3, 1957, at Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, to Marvin and Shirley (Villemaire) Klicker. He graduated from Fergus Falls High School in 1975. He was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran and was honorably discharged in 1979, having attained the rank of Corporal. He was very proud of his service to his country. Kurt was united in marriage to Jill Kroeze on December 17, 1988, in Detroit Lakes. He was always happy in the kitchen. Like his dad, Kurt was a phenomenal cook and the family go-to guy with questions about cooking. Those of us who knew Kurt will say that once you met him, you’d never forget him, and he would always remember your name.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Marvin and Shirley Klicker, and his brother Karl on March 28, 2022.
He is survived by his wife, Jill Klicker of Aitkin; Sons: Darren Krohn (Katie) of Williams, Kristopher of Roseville, and Dr. Austin Krohn (Colleen) of Aitkin; Grandchildren: Ella, Abby, Jenna, George, and Colton; Siblings: Mark (Elaine) of Spring Hill, TN., Peter (Kathy) of Roseville, and Kristi (Jonathan) of Fergus Falls; He is also survived by many special nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A service with military honors celebrating Kurt will be 2:00 pm on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at Saint John’s Lutheran Church in Aitkin. Pastor David Becker will officiate. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Pine Hill Cemetery in Williams. Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Aitkin assisted Kurt’s family with arrangements.
